Tribe 5K

The Tribe 5K in Peabody, MA is a small race with a real home-town feel.

I don’t know anyone here but I feel like a friend at a family dinner. (“Glad you could come! Sit down! Eat!” That’s the feeling I get from everyone.)

But before the pizza and beer, of course, we run. So run with me now…

Everyone has a good time at this race!

(I took this photo, and the others below, while running.)

All right! Let’s get to the good stuff–an HD video that puts you right in the middle of this race. Go ahead! Click the ‘Play’ button below. (And be sure to view the video in Full-Screen, so you’ll see the photos in panoramic, high-resolution.)

Were you at this race–and if so, what did you like best about it? What could be improved?

(If you weren’t there, I hope these photos and HD video gave you a taste of the race…and I hope I’ll see you at a race next week.)

Old Salem Green XC Race

The Old Salem Green XC  in Salem MA is a 5K cross-country race on a golf course that seems to be a half a second away from exploding into brilliant green. It’s the first day of Spring and the snow is gone. Yes! Gone!

We burst onto the fairway like kids let out of school at recess.

I’m filled with joy from my head to my feet. (My bare feet. I’ve been running barefoot for a couple of weeks, and although I’ve never run more than a mile barefoot, I figure the grass will be soft and my feet will thank me.)

Come! Run with me now.

Other runners avoid the water. But my feet are bare! I run right through it!

I took this photo, and the others below, while running.

After months of winter, a taste of Spring descended on the Boston area…and a small group of runners took advantage of the warmth and sunshine to run on the scenic Minuteman Bikepath in Lexington.

You know you want to. Take off your shoes! Run with me now!

Happy barefoot runners…

Running barefoot…you feel like you’re flying!

Here’s a slow-motion video that shows the amazing way our feet land when we run barefoot:

I hope to see you at a race or barefoot run soon!
