The Fudgecicle 5K is a no-frills 5K that draws runners from North and West of Boston every Saturday morning in January and February.   The course is flat.   Usuallly the world is in a deep freeze…but today is mild, with temps pleasantly in the 20’s.

With everyone else asleep...the road is ours!

First turn...and the fast runners are pulling ahead.

Look closely.   Her feet don't touch the ground!

Ahh.   Is there any better way to start a Saturday Morning?

Fudgecicle 5K (1-9-2010)

Every Saturday morning in January and February a few dozen hard-core runners converge in Tewksbury, MA for a no-frills 5K.   The course is flat.   The air burns your throat when you breathe.   The world is frozen, and we fly through it like birds.

90 seconds into the race...

Snow on the landscape but the roads are dry.

Fast women!

Now, if you could only smell the wood smoke...

Happy runners approach the finish line.

On this first day of 2010, hundreds of runners celebrate by running in the inaugural Lowell 1st Run.   There’s snow on the landscape but the weather is mild as we sprint into the new year.
